How can used and refurbished X-ray dealers offer financing to their buyers?
A used C-arm or a refurbished DR room is an easier yes when the buyer sees a monthly payment next to the price. Here’s what refurbished X-ray systems list for in 2026, what those prices look like as payments, what a deal needs to fund fast, when you get paid and which free partner tier fits a used X-ray dealer.

Can a buyer finance a used or refurbished X-ray machine?
Yes. Refurbished systems from the OEM or an established refurbisher are routine for us, and we’ll finance used equipment too: full-size and mini C-arms, fluoroscopy, DR rooms, DR retrofits and portable units.
Your buyers are operating businesses: urgent care centers, orthopedic and podiatry practices, pain management clinics, surgery centers, imaging centers, mobile X-ray services and chiropractic offices. For an established buyer, here’s what the file looks like:
- A soft credit inquiry to start. It doesn’t affect the buyer’s score.
- No tax returns on most deals. Qualifying files up to $500,000 are decided on the application alone. Every system in the table below comes in well under that.
- A fast answer. Most applications get a first response within 1 to 2 business hours, and clean application-only files can be approved in as little as 30 minutes.
- A 600 FICO is a common starting point. Many programs for established businesses start there, and two or more years in business opens the broadest set of programs.
The full program is on our X-ray and imaging equipment financing page. If you also sell CT, MRI or ultrasound, our imaging dealer guide covers how to structure those deals.

Listed asking prices, not appraisals or offers, from eight U.S. sellers’ listings checked October 16, 2026 (see Sources). Payments are examples for established businesses only, at an assumed 6.75% with nothing down, on the listed price alone. Startups and businesses under two years are priced on their own files. Five West has no affiliation with these sellers.
Two things jump out. The GE OEC 9900 Elite lists at $59,850 as a 2011 GSP unit with a six-month warranty and at $105,295 as an ESP unit with a one-year warranty, so the configuration, the warranty and the seller can all move the price a lot. And a low price can leave things out. That $11,000 DR room is de-installed, so it’ll need shipping and installation before it takes a single image. For scale, our imaging cost guide puts a new DR room, typically delivered and installed, at roughly $45,000 to $190,000 by tier.
What about the rows under $15,000? That’s where bundling comes in. Our usual minimum is about $15,000, and several smaller items can go on one contract to reach it. A podiatry practice that adds a used OrthoScan FD mini C-arm, listed at $12,800, and the $9,999 AeroDR setup for its X-ray room has a $22,799 deal. For an established practice, that’s about $701 a month over 36 months. Those are equipment prices only, and the mini C-arm’s listing says it needs recertification before it’s used on patients. With a used room like that $11,000 one, put the installation, site preparation, shielding and a service contract on the same agreement. On qualifying transactions they can all share one payment, so quote the whole project.
What does a refurbished X-ray deal need to fund quickly?
A complete invoice, written warranty terms, a clear install scope and a signed acceptance. The application itself is short. What you’ll want ready is the paperwork on the equipment:
- An itemized invoice. Make, model, serial number and year of manufacture for each system, every line priced, and whether it’s refurbished or sold as-is.
- Warranty and service terms in writing. How long the warranty runs and whether it covers parts and labor, since the term we can offer follows it.
- The install scope. Who de-installs, ships, installs and calibrates the system. Site preparation, shielding, installation and service contracts can go on the same agreement on qualifying transactions, so put them on your invoice.
- Delivery and acceptance. We fund after the buyer signs and the equipment is delivered and accepted.
Got a buyer and a specific system? Send the make, model and serial number early, and we’ll tell you whether that system finances, and over what term, before anyone negotiates.
Selling to chiropractic offices? The limits aren’t the same. Application-only goes up to about $75,000 for most established practices and $50,000 for practices under two years. Above that, we usually ask for three to six months of business bank statements and a recent tax return, which typically adds about a day. Most states also require X-ray registration and a physicist survey before a practice images a patient, so the doctor should start that paperwork alongside the application. The payment examples in this post don’t apply to chiropractic practices.
How long can a refurbished X-ray system be financed?
Up to 84 months on an equipment finance agreement or 60 on a lease, but a refurbished system’s term is matched to its remaining service life and its warranty. Since the term can’t outrun the equipment’s useful life, an older build is often written shorter than a newer one. The structures:
- Equipment finance agreement (EFA): 24 to 84 months, and the buyer owns the system from day one. It’s the usual fit for X-ray rooms, retrofits and other equipment a practice will run for years.
- Lease: 24 to 60 months with a $1, 10% or fair market value buyout. A fair market value lease can suit DR panels and software the practice expects to replace, since it leaves an upgrade path at the end.
Many programs also offer deferred or seasonal payments to match the revenue the equipment brings in, and many don’t charge a prepayment penalty. If a file’s borderline, we’ll look at a restructure first, like money down or a shorter term.
My advice? Quote two terms on every refurbished system, 36 and 60 months, and expect the approval to lean toward the shorter one on an older build. If your buyers are still on film or CR, our DR upgrade guide for X-ray dealers covers that sale.
When does the dealer get paid?
When the deal funds. We pay you 100% of the invoice directly, after the buyer signs and the equipment is delivered and accepted. Once everything’s signed and accepted, standard deals can fund in as little as 24 to 48 hours.
Where the equipment requires a deposit, deposit funding can be released once documents are signed, with the balance on delivery. Progress and pre-funding arrangements are available on qualifying transactions, too. Either way, you won’t carry a receivable or do any collecting, because the buyer’s obligation runs to the funder, not to you.
So the acceptance is what starts your payment. I’d get it signed the day the install wraps up, while everyone’s still in the room. That’s a good day for your own paperwork, too: an assembler who installs certified X-ray components owes the buyer, and where applicable the state radiation-control agency, a Form FDA 2579 report of assembly within 15 days.
Which partner tier fits a used X-ray dealer?
The one that matches your monthly application volume. All three are free, so there’s no setup fee, no monthly fee and no application fee for your buyers, and each starts with a 90-day trial:
- 3rd Party Financing: our referral tier. No minimum volume, no setup and nothing to sign. Send buyers to support@fivewestfinancial.com or to a named contact we assign you, and a dedicated finance rep takes it from there.
- Co-Branded: about $100,000 a month in applications and one funded deal a quarter. Your logo goes on a payment calculator and a financing page we build, with an apply-online link for your site, the Partner Portal and continued training.
- Private Label: about $500,000 a month in applications. Everything in Co-Branded, plus a program built under your brand, CRM integration, sales meeting sponsorships and trade show support, under a partner program agreement.
Refurbished C-arms add up fast. Two applications a month on $59,850 C-arms is about $120,000 in applications, and that’s Co-Branded range. Moving up a tier doesn’t restart anything, and plenty of partners start on 3rd Party and move up once their volume is steady. Not sure where you land? I’d send your next deal as a referral and decide after that. We’ll also tell you early when a deal won’t work, so your reps aren’t waiting a week on a file.
How do you show a payment on every used listing?
Add a free Five West payment widget to your listings, so buyers see an estimated monthly payment next to your price. You don’t need a partner tier or an application to add one. There are three partner widgets: a payment estimate for product pages, an apply banner or button, and a complete financing page. You paste one short snippet, we host it and keep it up to date, and every application it starts reaches us tagged to your business. On Shopify and WooCommerce, the estimate can open with each product’s price already filled in.
For one-off quotes, the Quote Builder takes the invoice total, a term and a structure and shows an estimated payment, with no credit pull. On a partner program, your reps also get the Partner Portal: open deals by stage, payment estimates, and a Submit App screen that takes about a minute for the basics, with no documents and no Social Security number. It’s built for the phone, which helps when your rep’s standing in the buyer’s X-ray room. The Partner Portal demo shows how it works.
If you do one thing after reading this, put the widget on your C-arm and DR listings, so the monthly payment sits right next to your price.
Can a new practice finance refurbished X-ray?
Yes, selectively. A practice under one year in business is underwritten as a startup, and those programs typically look for:
- Personal credit of 700 or better.
- Relevant clinical or industry experience the owner can document.
- Working capital left after the purchase, usually with a down payment.
Between one and two years in business, fewer programs are open, but it’s still workable. Most of what we fund is for established businesses, generally two or more years in, and select programs exist for experienced operators opening a new practice. A refurbished system from an established refurbisher, with a written warranty and service support, makes the file stronger. A startup’s pricing depends on its own file, so the payment examples above don’t apply. Our guide to startup equipment financing covers what those programs look for.
Frequently asked questions
Can you finance a used C-arm?
Yes. Five West finances used and refurbished C-arms and mini C-arms, along with DR rooms, DR retrofits and portable X-ray. The term is matched to the system’s remaining service life and warranty, and qualifying files up to $500,000 are decided on the application alone, without tax returns or financial statements.
How much does a refurbished C-arm cost?
On October 16, 2026, U.S. listings showed a used 2015 Ziehm Vision RFD at $34,399, a fully refurbished Siemens Cios Alpha at $69,000, a used GE OEC Elite CFD at $98,000, and refurbished GE OEC 9900 Elite systems at $59,850 and $105,295. A refurbished Hologic Fluoroscan InSight-FD mini C-arm listed at $18,500. These are listed asking prices, not appraisals or offers.
What is the smallest X-ray deal that can be financed?
Our usual minimum is about $15,000. Several smaller items can go on one contract to reach it, such as a used DR panel setup and a used mini C-arm. Site preparation, shielding, installation and service contracts can also go on the same agreement on qualifying transactions.
When does an X-ray dealer get paid on a financed sale?
When the deal funds. Five West pays 100% of the invoice after the buyer signs and the equipment is delivered and accepted. Where the equipment needs a deposit, deposit funding can be released once documents are signed. The dealer doesn’t carry a receivable or do any collecting.
What does it cost a dealer to offer financing?
Nothing. All three Five West partner tiers are free, and there’s no setup fee, no monthly fee and no application fee for your buyers. 3rd Party Financing has no minimum volume, Co-Branded starts around $100,000 a month in applications, and Private Label around $500,000.
Can a new practice finance a refurbished X-ray system?
Selectively, yes. A practice under one year in business is underwritten as a startup, which typically means 700+ personal credit, relevant clinical experience, working capital left after the purchase and usually a down payment. A refurbished system with a written warranty and service support makes the file stronger.
How long can you finance a refurbished X-ray machine?
Equipment finance agreements run 24 to 84 months and leases 24 to 60 months, with $1, 10% or fair market value buyouts. On a refurbished system, the term is matched to the remaining service life and the warranty, so you’ll often see a shorter term on an older system than on a newer one.
