Over-the-road

Class 8 and over-the-road programs.

Over-the-road financing is tiered. Stronger credit and longer operating history open larger amounts and better structures, while a longer track record can offset a weaker score. These are general guidelines rather than guaranteed approval criteria, and every submission is reviewed on the complete credit profile.

Paynet is a commercial credit score based on how a business has paid past equipment and commercial loans, separate from personal FICO. Comparable credit means prior borrowing of a similar size, so a request generally needs supporting history at roughly half the amount requested. Guidelines shown are typical and vary by transaction; they are not an offer or commitment to finance.

Common questions

Answers before you apply.

Do you finance owner-operators?

Yes, through dedicated over-the-road programs. Owner-operator transactions generally require at least two years of verifiable experience or time in business, at least one power unit, and a 620 FICO, with financing up to $250,000. Equipment is generally limited to 10 years old and under 500,000 miles.

What credit score do I need to finance a semi truck?

Over-the-road programs generally start at a 600 FICO, and that lowest tier requires six or more years in business and a fleet of at least three power units. A 640 FICO with two years in business typically works with a 10 percent down payment, and 720+ with five years in business reaches the strongest tier. Commercial credit history, measured by a Paynet score, is weighed alongside personal FICO.

Can I buy a truck from a private seller?

Yes. Private-party purchases are welcome, along with dealer and auction buys.

Can I finance the truck and trailer together?

Yes. Tractor and trailer can be combined into a single application and payment.
